* Some Evenflo Triumph Advance seats manufactured prior to 12/4/2008 exhibited cracking in simulated crash tests with a toddler-sized dummy in a rear-facing position. Although some of these cracks resulted in the shoulder belt leaving the seat's belt path, the seats still would have scored 'good' for crash protection. Evenflo has since modified the seats at issue and samples of the Triumph Advance seats manufactured from 12/4/2008 forward did not crack in our tests.

Please do not refer to Consumer Reports for Safety ratings. They are not a reliable source of testing, they have had to recall recommendations in the past and have ignored manufacturer instructions during their testing which of course yields undesirable results. Even the "best" seat they recommend can "fail" when not used properly. If you choose to use their ratings, do so for ease of use/value.

All seats sold on the US Market pass the same Federal testing with either a PASS or FAIL. Only seats that pass are permitted to be sold.

My suggestion is that you go to BRU/BBB and touch the seats. Play with them, try your child in them. Both stores will also allow you to try them in your vehicle as well.

The "right" seat is the one that fits your child, your vehicle, your budget and is used properly every time.
