Need advice first time here

So DH and I are throwing the idea around about trying....I tried to understand the 101 of this forum and when to start the BD but Im soo confused....Can someone help me out. I got my AF on Mar 20....When should we start for example even tho we arent starting right now

Hi and welcome! My advice to you is to figure out your average cycle length. How many days between your last AF in Feb to your most recent one on March 20?

They say if you have a 28 day cycle, you are fertile right around the 14th day. (For me, I tend to have a 25 day cycle and BD most frequently around cd 10 - 13.)

congrats on starting to try! i think the most important thing is to get to know your body...everyone is different so your cycle length depends on when you should bd.

do you know how long your cycles are or when you ovulate? if you dont, you could start out getting an opk and even temping to learn more about your cycle. then you try to bd around the time of ovulation.

seems online most places use a standard 28 day cycle and say you ovulate on day 14...but i think most of us will agree our cycles are not like that at all. For example, my cycle is 37 days and i ovulate around day 24.

on the flip side, if you and dh regularly bd then you may not want to start temping/charting right away.

Congrats and good luck!

Everyone is different. There is no formula but your own. Your cycles can vary month to month by a couple of days.

Depending on the approach you want to take you can start using OPKs immediately. That doesn't mean it has to become a job or anything but it will help you figure things out.

The day you get your period is CD1. To wing it, most people BD every other day from at LEAST CD 10 if not sooner to about CD20.

I had 30ish day cycles. Month 1- winged it. Month 2- OPKs. Found out I O late. Also found out my LP is only 9-10 days so month 3 I started using OPKs AND taking B6 and month 4 BFP!

so after figuring out about my O..How many times should we BD lol.....I see alot of you guys write every other day why? How many times in one day also lol

my best advice is to just have sex as much as you can when you can lol

like others said if u have a pretty reg cycle u *would ovulate around cd 14 but no way of def knowing that

so if you are just winging it i would go every other day from cd 10 on or really just as much as u can with maybe a few times in a row around cd14-17

if u think u know when u r ovulating or about to i would just bd straight for 3 days

As the previous posters said you need to keep track of how long your cycles are -- I am a typical every 28 days.

I never temped or charted or anything -- all I did was use OPK's to determine ovulation.

I normally ovulate on CD 14/15 and we cd 10, 11, 13 and 15

I like the First Response pink lines and my favorites are the Clear Blue Easy digital -- you can't misread these since they give you a during your surge -- but they are more expensive
