Need Advice...
First I want to say that I really don't post most much, but I look to you guys for a lot of advice. I am trying to decide if I should see an RE now or wait a few months. I will most likely be joining all of you wonderful ladies.
Sorry for the long post I want to introduce myself and give a little background.
I came off BCP in September, since then I have only received 1 positive OPK. I have seen my OBGYN but they are a little hesitant to do much. I had been getting my period every 34-41 days. Then on March 16 was the last time I got my period so I went to see my OBGYN they did a sonogram and sent me for bloodwork I was on cycle day 58. They said everything was fine wait it out I should get my period. Well I waited and waited and nothing so on cycle day 74 I went to the OBGYN and they gave me the medication to bring on the period. I took the medication for the 10 days and now almost 3 weeks later I still have yet to get a period I am currently on cycle day 101. On Sunday I had very very minimal spotting almost nothing I don't even think you could classify it as spotting. I also have been told by the OBGYN that I probably have PCOS and have also been given a form to get bloodwork for insulin deficiency. I have not gotten that bloodwork done yet because I would like to get that and cycle day 3 bloodwork done as well. So my question is what would you guys do? I am really undecided and I am very sick of being told that I am young and to wait. I am 26 and I would not like to waste any more time. Especially if I am not even getting any chances. And how much longer am I supposed to wait for my period?
Thank you all for listening, again sorry this is so long I just really need advice. And to all! You are a wonderful group of ladies and I look forward to posting more.

Re: Need Advice...
First of all - I will say that the women on this board are absolutely amazing. the support and knowledge and willingness to help is unbelievable !! -
I wrote almos the exact same post as you few months ago........I always had a regular period, and after coming off BCP everything was off. - When I finally got to a point where I was at 100+ days in my cycle and the OBGYN was telling me everything was 'normal' - I was annoyed.
Personally, if you want to TTC, I don't see any reason to wait to go to a RE. Even if you DON'T want to start trying, I still wanted to know what was "wrong" with me b/c let's face it, it's NOT normal to not ovulate every month and get your period. - Soooooo, WHY was this happening and what did I need to do to fix it? - Just b/c you're young (I'm 29) doesn't mean you're not going to have the same problem in a year or 2 or 10 .......so why not just take care of it now?
I would go to the RE. I felt 100x better having a true diagnosis (PCOS) with an insulin deficiency (or however your phrase it) and a course of action (Metformin and Clomid with the "natural" BD route for now)
My cousin is an OBGYN and recommended Dr. Stelling at RSofNY - I go to the Mineola office b/c I live in Nassau and work in the city ........ - They have a Stonybrook office too - Good Luck !!

Re: Need Advice...
I would head to a RE now rather than waiting. Irregular cycles and not ovulating should be addressed sonner rather than later.

Couldn't have said it better myself (except I don't go to RSNY, I go to LIIVF)
