Need a restaurant for a 100 person wedding for March.
Yup. I know crazy. My sister has informed my mother and I that after being engaged for 10 years, she's getting married this march. She said intimate wedoing but the guestlist is 100 people. She wants to have it a barn and cater food from a pizzeria and buy utensils and such at Costco and has asked us to help with all the hosting of it. She has no idea how stressfull it is to host a party becauae she has never really helped with my showers and such. My mom andI, needless to say,want this to be a smooth and enjoyable and not stressful wedding. She is open to restaurant suggestions. I know catering halls are most likely all booked and way over budget. Any suggestions on restaurants that can hold up to 100 with a danice floor. Wedding ceremony is in Smithtown. Thanks.

Need a restaurant for a 100 person wedding for March.
We just booked a 50th Anniversary party for my parents at Willow Creek Country Club in Mt. Sinai for 100 people. It is beautiful and the food is delicious. We were able to get a Saturday night for under $65 a head. That included, a small cocktail hour, 4 course dinner and dessert, beer/wine/soda. I am actually jealous I didn't look there for my wedding.

If she's interested in having it at a catering hall, she will get incredible prices because it's so close to the date. My husband and I booked our hall in April for our October wedding. If I told people what we paid for Westbury Manor on a Friday night, no one would believe me. We also got amazing deals with vendors because we booked so close to the date. Places know that if they aren't booked by now, odds are they won't be booked at all, so they offer insane discounts.

I would't rule out catering places. We booked out wedding 4 months before the date at a very popular club in Manhattan. Worth asking!

I booked my wedding in 5 months and got exactly what I wanted. It is not too short a time. Check Smithtown Landing and West Sayville Country club. Both are Lessings and super affordable. We chose west Sayville as it was the more intimate and homelike feeling we were looking for.

Shandon Court in East Islip can handle that - I had 104 at my eparty and had a dj, etc. Plus, great prices.

Agree with this. My cousin just got married (catering hall) a week ago and got engaged in August. A lot of catering halls will probably be willing to give you a date that's soon for a discount since chances are most brides aren't going to book a wedding there on such short notice.

Like others have said, don't rule out anything - first of all, March is considered "off season" in the catering world and secondly, if she can choose a date that they still have open they will give her a steal of a deal in order to book that date vs. having nothing on that date instead.
A friend of mine planned her wedding for May, pretty last minute, but not as last minute as your sister and got an UNBELIEVABLE deal at a beautiful hall. I was kicking myself because if I could have done it over again, I would have done it that way!
ETA -- just did a quick search b/c, a few years back, I went to a fundraiser at the Brush Barn in Smithtown - it's historical and has been there since like the 1600's or something crazy lol. Here, check it out --

You could spiff that place up and it would be rustic, beautiful, warm and unique!

It's a beautiful building and I have seen weddings taking place there before.
Tell her to look into Deepwells Estate also - see if perhaps they do private events.
I mean, it may be a long shot because it is a catering hall but if she checked out Flowerfield in Saint James - the cocktail hour room is rustic and like botanic garden, since she's last minute she would get some deal - and some people choose to have the whole ceremony and reception right in that room. She could check that out too.

This! My brother in sister in law announced in October they wanted to get married in January/February with a teeny tiny budget. Well that being said they moved to March and have upped their budget. However since I basically planned their entire wedding I called numerous catering halls, as the restaurant they wanted to have it at was not giving them what they should have for the price.
I would check out The Riviera in Massapequa. Their price was the lowest I found and they definitely have a rustic feel about them. I have been there before and think 100 people would be perfect. When I called I spoke to Michelle and she was very helpful in giving me pricing over the phone and their available dates.
Ultimately my brother and sil chose another place but I would look into the Riviera if I were them!
ETA - FM me if you'd like the pricing I was given for Jan/Feb I am sure March isn't too far off and it being 3 months away...

That's where I got married--It's called the Carriage House & 10 years ago, at least, it was very reasonable. We had about 80 people. They do the catering.
There are also large rooms in the restaurant for events.
I also suggest checking out the Queens county Farm museum, although it is far from Smithtown.
I also wanted to add that March is a slow month for weddings, so catering halls may not be out of the question, and she may even get a lower off season rate. Also, a friend of mine booked in July for November & that is a pretty busy time of year & she was able to get a Saturday.
ETA- I agree with you Jessica, that putting it all together from scratch is a lot of work, especially on short notice. I would try & steer her toward a restaurant or hall.
