NB moms anyone's DC eat every 4 hours?

DS was in the NICU and came home Tues he was one week old. They were feeding him pumped Bm about 2oz every 3 hours. I'm trying to transition off the bottle but still keep him on the 3 hour schedule but he loves to sleep and generally doesn't want to wake up to eat at 3 hours. Should I let him sleep and try at 4 hours or continue waking him at 3 hours?
I'm afraid if I change to a 4 hour schedule he won't sleep at night. I'm still going to continue to breastfeed him and eliminate the bottles which will change his feeding times entirely I'm sure but for now I need to know what to do with bottle feedings

We had DD on a schedule right from birth. She started eating every 3 hours, but by her 8th day, she was able to go every 4 hours. At 5 weeks, we started giving her formula in her last bottle (11pm) and a few days later she started sleeping straight thru the night. So, the 4 hour intervals has not impacted her sleep at all.

ds is 6 weeks. he eats at 930 am, 1230/1 pm, 430 pm, 8 pm, 1130 pm then sleeps straight til 6 when he has his first bottle of bm. he is taking 4-4.5 oz of per feeding though (he's a moose). I would space the daytime gaps out to 3.5 hrs then let him sleep at night.

DS is EBF and I was told to feed him 8-12 times a day. During the day I try not to let him go beyond 3 hours but at night I'll let him go as long as 5, not that he actually does that often. Sometimes during the day he eats as often as every hour or two. I feed on demand so if he wants to eat, I let him. I know formula fed babies are to be fed every 4 hours (or 6 times a day) but from what I understand BF babies need more than that. I would run it by your doctor or a lactation consultant.
