Nausea ?s - Possible TMI
I was going to wait to post on the PG board again until my doctor's app in 1 week but I have 2 questions that can't wait.
With my first pregnancy I was so nauseous from about 6-14 weeks, my doctor put me on an Rx. I think that was actually making it worse. I stopped taking that and my nausea stopped.
This time around it's just starting, I'm almost 7 weeks. I have a few questions:
1. Do you think it's the prenatal vitamins. I tested myself by not taking them a day or two and I'm slightly better. Anyone get away with not taking them?
2. I'm not good at throwing up (sorry, TMI). But I was wondering if I make myself sick, will I get a little relief?
Thanks for the answers and happy to be back posting here.

Re: Nausea ?s - Possible TMI
are you trying to take your prenatals with food?
Also and I dont know why its different but if i take the chewables, i do not get nauseous at all! its great.
Also, are you trying small meals every 2 hours- even 5 crackers should help.
GL! and welcome!

Re: Nausea ?s - Possible TMI
I was taking the prenatals with lunch. And that fishy pill, ugh. It always repeats. That was the first to go even though I think that one is more important. Can I get the chewables at CVS or are they Rx?
I do find myself eating often. Maybe I'll try and space things out a little more. My jeans are already getting tight.

Re: Nausea ?s - Possible TMI
i was not able to take vitamins at all for this entire pregnancy. With my last 2 i was able to take them right before bed. Any other time of day they would make me sick.
and for me the nausea would come back 5 minutes after throwing up. so i dont think that would actually work. Throwing up never actually made me fee better.

Nausea ?s - Possible TMI
I didn't take my prenatal for a chunk of my pregnancy cause I couldn't keep anything down so they were just going to come right back.
I suggest getting one where the DHA portion is not from fish. It will eliminate the fishy after taste that may be making your MS worse.
I would not make yourself throw up. I tried it and no it did not help.

I didn't take prenatals for either of my pregnancies. My doctor was okay with me just taking a multi-vitamin each day.

Thanks ladies. I feel a little better knowing I'm not the only one who can't do the vitamins.

Try taking your prenatals before bed. This way your stomach isn't empty and you'll sleep through any side effects.

Re: Nausea ?s - Possible TMI
I take citranatal assure and they are very easy on my stomach and the DHA is plant based. I do believe that there is a prescription prenatal that is made for women who have MS

Re: Nausea ?s - Possible TMI
I hardly threw up at all, but I've been super nauseous. I used to think I'd get relief if I would just throw up...I was wrong bc the few times I actually did throw up did not make me feel ANY better.
Hope you find relief soon.

I have these as well and haven't taken them in over a month. Once MS started, they've made me nauseous no matter when I've taken them.

Re: Nausea ?s - Possible TMI
I rediscovered Preggie Pop Drops last night while I was going through my pantry looking for something to eat. I found these at the end of MS with my first. I took one last night and it really did help. I'm going to try and use them today to stay ahead of the nausea and see if this helps. They are a little pricey but if it helps I'll buy them in bulk.
Preggie Pop Drops
Thanks again for all the suggestions. I really appreciate it.

Nausea ?s - Possible TMI
In spite of feeling nauseated with DS#1 I was able to take my vitamins every day though I had to do it with a heavy meal -- like dinner. This time around, not so much. I honestly barely took them because they made me feel worse AND I have vitamins that are supposed to be easy on the stomach. And now it's at the point where I forget to do so -- not because they make me sick (I'm 34 weeks tomorrow).

Re: Nausea ?s - Possible TMI
I thought you were suppose to wait 2 hours after eating too take the pre Natals. I would take them during the day and they made me sick then I switched to bed time and felt so much better
