Narragansett Bay Insurance
Has anyone ever heard of them or gotten homeowners through them? I just received a quote but I want to make sure they are a reputable insurance company.

Yes. This was the only company who would touch me when we were dropped by SF after Sandy.
Jen from Bradley & Parker, a vendor on this site, was amazing to deal with.
From what I have seen, this is the main company who will work with anyone who is considered in any kind of disaster zone here on LI.
Which with our weather, is basically anywhere at this point.

Narragansett Bay Insurance
I bought my house south of merrick road in august 2011 a year before Sandy. At that point, no other insurance company would touch us. I'm very close to the water but sustained no damager the following year during Sandy. I filed one claim with them during Sandy (roof) damage. They've been fine to work with.

I use them on my house. I am not in a flood zone, but they were the cheapest quote we found. I haven't had any issues or claims through them so I can't really respond to their customer service...one thing that annoys me is that I have to make changes, etc. through my agent...something came up a few years ago where I couldn't just handle it myself, I had to go to my agent and let them do it.

I have them and we are in a flood zone. We got a discount since they are partnered with Geico and we had our car insurance with them. We filed one claim in 2008 when a wild, random storm came through and knocked a tree on our house. It went smoothly.

I am not in a flood zone either, thankfully.
Thanks for the replies, I decided to go ahead and switch over with them. It seems like better coverage at a much better price then I was getting with State Farm.

We've had them for 4 years. We had to file a claim this past winter when a pipe burst and flooded our first floor. They were very helpful and easy to work with. Within hours, I had a crew here cleaning things out and I had checks for repairs and losses within days.
I think our annual rate is readonable as well. We have them through Geico so we get a little discount by having home and auto.

I have had it since I bought my house. Its the only company that would insure me. I'm on the NS lose to the water, however we are so high up we would NEVER be flooded.
Great insurance. I have no complaints.

Narragansett Bay Insurance
We had them through Geico on our last house. They were very good. For some reason when we moved to suffolk they weren't available as a company. We got this really crappy company who we have had problems with and we've never even had to file a claim. We are going to look into going back with Naragansett.
ETA: They had amazing rates , too!
