naps???

is your 2 1/2 year olds still taking naps?
if so what time so they get up? nap? and go to sleep?

I am trying to decide what to do about DD and her nap - she gets up at 8ish and goes to sleep at 8pm ish. However when she does take a nap (around 2 pm and can last anywhere from 2- 2.5 hours) it sometimes seems to interfere with her bedtime - she seems to roll around for an hour or so before she falls asleep. When her nap is skipped she passes out at 8 pm within 5 minutes. Just trying to decided to cut her nap out completely or cut it down to less time

TIA

Re: naps???

DS is 2.5 (3 in May)

wake between 630-7
naps 1-4
goes down at night between 730-8

ETA- i think its the age. my son will sometimes lay in his bed and look at books or talk to himself for anywhere from 10-90 minutes. Yes, sometimes 1.5 hours.

DD is 28 months and has a very similar schedule. She, too, talks and plays in her crib for 10-90 minutes. I feel guilty about it, like I'm ditching her but DH tells me over and over that I'm being ridiculous, that she's happy, that she needs the wind-down time, and that we need the alone time. Re: naps???

My DS who's 2.5 (3 in July), still naps and absolutely needs it.
Wake up ranges from 5-6
Naps from 12-3
Bedtime 745-830.

There are nights were he does not calm down & fall asleep as easy.

Re: naps???

My DD didn't give up naps until she was about 3.5. She was in bed asleep at 8pm and slept every day until about 8am. She napped for about two hrs every day, I never let her nap past 3 though otherwise it would interfere with her falling asleep at night. It sounds like your DD still needs her nap so I wouldn't eliminate it, I would just try to not let her nap past a certain time every day. Chat Icon
