nap question
I asked another post about reflux n cribs n ppl kept talking about naps..... My question is...my dd is almost 3 months... I feed her keep upright for a,while after n then hang out wit her... she sits in mamaroo but doesn't fall asleep n I put her in the swing if she falls asleep in my arms... but napping is sometime rare.. it's more like catnaps...
How do you put them down for a nap???

Re: nap question
At that age, DS was all about catnaps too, then just gradually got to a regular 2-3 naps a day, then just 2, then 1.
That sounds pretty normal to me... tho no ideal for getting anything done!

I think it's worth a try. DD was on the eat, play, sleep routine by 2 months. She would nurse as soon as she woke up, then hang out, and after an hour of awake time she would fuss and I'd put her straight in the swing, rnp, or crib for a nap. The swing was good bc it always knocked her out so I knew I could put her in there and shower and get ready for the day. When she woke we'd start the whole routine over again. The rest of the naps during the day I would try the rnp or crib. She learned very quickly to put herself to sleep and by 5 months we put away the rnp and swing and she did all naps in the crib. The first few naps in the crib I would put her down sleepy but awake and stay in the room folding laundry or whatever so she knew I was close and I could talk to her or rub her tummy if she started to fuss and she would usually doze off pretty quickly. Most of her naps were around an hour at that age.

nap question
thats funny.. last night i put her down for the night and she cried after a couple of min...I just sat in the room infront of her and rocked the rock and play and fell asleep... i guess being in the room made a difference like you said....
I feel like eat, play, sleep is off bc if she is suppose to eat every 3-4 hrs. it can take her like 45 mins to drink a bottle then im suppose to keep her up for 30 mins after for the reflux and then play with her for a lil if she isnt crying so by the time i want her to sleep its almost feeding again and I dont want her missing so many feedings.

nap question
my ds took cat naps until about 4 months old...anywhere from 20-40 minutes. around 4 months he started giving us two 40 minutes naps and one 1.5-2.5 hours nap in his crib. it was a pain when he would just cat nap but he adjusted on his own so there was nothing for us to do

Re: nap question
Both my DD and DS slept naps in a moving swing until around 4.5 months old. They slept awesome, 2 hour naps and got into a schedule. Then when they were ready to transition to sleeping naps in the crib they just kept that same schedule. I think it really helped.
