My trip to labor and delivery last night

I don't know who remembers me posting about Braxton hicks but yesterday my stomach was hard all day long...which is what I thought was by contractions.

I ended up calling my doc because I didn't like the fact that it was all day that my belly felt like that.

She told me to go to l and d to be monitored.

They hooked me up to monitors and said that I was indeed contracting. However after the internal exam they saw that my cervix was closed and I wasn't dilated at all. It was determined that I was not in preterm labor.

My question though is my stomach still feels rock hard to me. In fact since I left the hospital it hasn't softened at all. Is this just how my belly will feel now?

I had the nurse feel my belly before I left and she said that it was fine. They told me if I have more than 5 contractions in an hour to go back to l and d.

But now I don't know what I'm looking for since I thought my hard belly meant contraction, but obviously not since it hasn't softened since I left...only when I am laying completely flat.

Maybe it's the way the baby is laying? Anyone else's belly relatively harder than it used to be? I'm 32 weeks...

Mine just got harder as my pregnancy went along. But there was a difference between everyday hard and contraction hard.
