My new gameplan.. sort of..
So went to Dr. Braverman for my follow up and to discuss whats next.
First he gives me this Mets Pin of David wright..it was so sweet of him..
OK so he basically said that my FSH is going up.. it was at 9.5 and he doesnt like it near 10.. so i am now on 2 different herbs.. Wheat grass, and Pycnogenol.. which already is making me sick.. but it has to do with the eggs, and helps with the FSH .. so he highly recomended that..
next he gave me more tests for the immune issues.. and a DNA fragmentation on DH.. so these are the lasts of the tests for me.. everything else is done.
As for the new plan.. well there really isn't one
we are doing the same IUI cycle as last.. and he will ONLY try to create 1 egg.. no more than that.. because of my IC.. he doesn't want to take the chance.. so then he gave me the option of trying again on our own, or another IUI.. and i felt so upset because if i try on our own, was like taking a step back.. i really like doing the IUI's because its less stressful for me. even by only getting 1 egg.. but i see his point.. its basically the same percentage of trying on our own.. so we decided to do the IUI again.. and if it fails.. we can then take a break .
do you think i am ridiculous for doing the IUI again? this is bothering me more than ever.. i feel so stuck.. and he does want to help me.. its not his fault.. the RE is right.. but he left me the option.. he just didnt want me to be more aggressive than that.. and its okay because there is no other choice but IVF.. and i am not ready for that yet.

Re: My new gameplan.. sort of..
hey De. i hope you guys don't mind me posting on here.
i personally think that because you already know that you can get pregnant on your own, trying IUI one more time is a good idea.
i also understand you wanting the control that the IUI gives you over timed BDing.
i think that was so sweet of Dr. B to give you that pin.
i wish you the absolute best of luck - you know i am always praying for you!!

Re: My new gameplan.. sort of..
I know what you mean about "trying on your own" being a step back. I like the non-stress of having them do the IUI. I can't tell you the stress it takes away. Good Luck, I hope the herbs and IUI work for you this month. You are ALWAYS in my thoughts and prayers

Re: My new gameplan.. sort of..
I agree about the IUI being less stressful. I would've chosen that route, as well.
Good luck, chickie

Re: My new gameplan.. sort of..
He really is awesome....so thoughtful. But I'd give away a Mets pin too. Yuck! Lol.heehee
I think you are making the right decision because its what feels right to you. As you know for me timed BD'ing was what felt right for me, I think we have to do what we feel most comfortable with. I also think its good to give it another chance or 2 or 3 or whatever you can handle. Just go with what is right for you. OXOXOX third times a charm!

It sounds like a good idea to do another iui - esp. b/c it makes you feel more in control and like you're being proactive - that's how it is for me too. I wish you the best of luck

Re: My new gameplan.. sort of..
D - thought I could share some of my results which might send some positive vibes your way...
My FSH has always been somewhat elevated - going into this cycle 8.67 on day 3. That is considered "high-normal". I did not take supplements to lower my FSH, but I was put on Metformin for insulin resistant issues and supposedly Metformin increases the quality of your eggs...something must've worked. I didn't know what to expect from this cycle and was shocked after many many negative tests that my beta came back +.
I have also tested positive for auto-immune issues (+ anti-nuclear antibodies) but all further tests are inconclusive. The RE I have been seeing never really did some of the tests that Dr B does and I was intent on seeing him if this didn't work for me to get to the bottom of my med issues. My mom has auto-immune issues so it is somewhat inevitable for me at some point in my life (as per the rheumatologist).
Wishing you lots of
Dr B seems like a wonderful doc and he seems so emotionally connected to the process - it is just wonderful. Stick with it! Let this be your cycle!!!
