My Mother Just Called...(C.C. Fraud related)
And some freakin' idiots got my dad's CC info (card is with him AT WORK in his wallet) and tried to charge instruments worth over $12,000 at a music festival.
Are you freakin' kidding me. My dad is spitting nails.
I know this happened recently to someone on here as well.
I told my mother to call the company (which she did, the card is already cancelled/closed) and told her she may have to call the Suffolk cops and file a report!
This is freakin' insane!
Any other info I should let my parents know?
You think "Oh it will never happen to me"..Well, guess what, today totally changed my attitude towards that line!
Be careful everyone!!! It's scary!

She also might want to start getting attorney referrals just in case she has to fight the charge.

She should contact the credit reporting bureaus to notify them of this situation.
They should also keep a close eye on their other CCs just in case this wasn't the only card they got.

this happened to me with macys. i put passwords on my credit cards. call the the credit reporting services. sorry that this happened

I know this happened recently to someone on here as well.
I posted about this a few months ago. Someone opened a credit cards in DH's name and bought computers and computer equipment. You have to call the credit card company and file a complaint with their fraud dept. They also suggested that DH go to the nassau county police dept. and file a complaint but he didnt (he's a cop and said they dont do anything anyway  ) He had to fill out some papers they sent him and send them back. They give you NO information about the person, address, phone number or anything b/c they are protecting their privacy  yet they used DH's SS# and went on a shopping spree

So messed up...got a little more info. It was NOT online. It was traced to a store in FL where my father made a purchase while we were on vacation last week.
The bank (it was a bank card) gave my father a whole list of purchases these freakin' morons made!
The bank is handling everything as of now. The card is cancelled/closed.
That's all I really know right now.
Just sux!!!!

The bank will investigate and he will get his money back. They can file a police report but not sure they will investigate it. It can't hurt though
