My FIRST day at my new job starts tomorrow!! LIRR peps help
traveling by train is new to me. I use to go to Hudson st once a month 5 years ago but noticed I didn't dress like regular LIRR peps 
everyone look perfect 
What are the essentials for platform waiting? boots, sneakers? long rain coat? how do I dress???
so excited to start my new career 
editing: to say I will be getting off at Jamaica not Penn.

What ever you are comfortable in. You will see it all. Today all I had on was tall boots, dress and cardigan.
People thought I was crazy but I was fine.
Shoes. I commute I whatever is comfy. Boots sneakers flip flops

Essentials for the platform.....a taser?
Wear whatever you're comfy in. I wore a dress and boots today and a trench with a scarf. Honestly, unless someone looks exceptionally ridiculous I never notice what anyone is wearing.
When you're waiting for the train, stand to the right of the watch the gap markers.....that's usually where the doors open. Head to the door before the train stops when you get to Penn (I'm guessing you're going to Penn?) otherwise you'll never get off and may get whacked in the head with someone's gym bag.

There's no dress code for riding the train, you wear whatever you are wearing for your job. you see all types of people on the train depending on the time of day you commute.

I always wear a sweater during the summer. It can get very cold on the train. Keep the snow shovel in the winter. I promise you, you will thank me for that.
