First day at new job tomorrow - any advice?
I was out of work for over a year and started temping about 2 months ago. After two short term assignments they set me up for an interview for a direct hire job. I got the job and its something I'm really excited about...but also really nervous about. I havent been back to "real" work in such a long time. I feel like its the first day of school or something 
Any words of wisdom or advice for the first day? Anything you always do on your first day at a new job?
And this is a really stupid question, but I HAVE to start my day with coffee and I really dotn have time to sit and have it at home while I'm trying to get DS dressed and out the door. Would it look bad if I brought a cup of coffee into work with me on my first day? I dont know if I have my own desk yet or anything

Good luck. I'm sure you are there already. What's the office like?
I was going to suggest you get up extra early and have a cup and then see how it goes.

i hope your first day went great! i understand the jitters. i had them too after almost 2 yrs not working. it totally was like the first day of school!

Thank you everyone! My first 2 days went great - I really like it...a lot more than I anticipated. I've very excited and hopeful for my future with this company
