My coffee just does not stay hot!
OK granted I like a lot of half and half (bad, I know) but even after I reheat it super hot, it cools off so quickly. I love drinking from a real mug, not a covered travel cup. Is there a kind of mug that hold the heat in better lol or am I just being crazy  ?

I find the same thing.
The only thing that keeps it relatively hot is my contigo travel mug
If you are a slow drinker,you can make it in the travel mug, and just pour a little into your mug at a time leaving the rest in the travel mug to stay warm

Before you add the coffee, warm the mug with boiling water.
Heat the half n half so it doesn't cool the coffee quickly.
I sometimes put a small saucer on top of the mug to keep heat from escaping, like putting a lid on a pot.
I'll pour smaller quantities of coffee into my mug, keep the rest in a thermal carafe to keep it hotter because I make coffee with a pour over method.

ETA: I just saw what you wrote about not drinking from a travel mug, but I still swear by this 
I swear by the Yeti tumbler. Your coffee will be hot for a long time. Not just an hour. It is worth the money. I have given it as gifts to several male friends who work outside and can't get fresh coffee so easily. They love it.

I warm my creamer then add it to the coffee
Realistically you instantly cool your coffee when you add cold milk/cream
20 seconds in the microwave is what I do

Yeti for sure. Not a real coffee cup though. They are super expensive, but many places have knock offs. I've heard good things about the one at Walmart

Thanks for this! My mom always complains her coffee gets cold in a minute! I think she has a very high tolerance for heat. I'm going to order this for her.
