my babysitter is leaving for 8 weeks! question about using someone new...

So my babysitter works at a camp in the summer and and will be gone for 8 weeks. I'm upset even though it isn't the end of the world. She is great with DD. DD loves her!
She is going to bring her friend over To meet DD and myself whom she recommends to babysit while she is gone. She said she would never recommend somebody she didn't trust. She knows her from college, she works in a daycare for over 5 years, she loves kids. When my babysitter can't sit for other people, this girl goes.
But I am just so nervous to leave DD with someone I don't know.
Any tips on how to handle this? How do you go about gaining trust?

I'm sorry I don't have tips but I just wanted to send you hugs for a difficult situation

I hope that everything works out for the better but just remember - you don't have to use this person if you don't like her or if DC doesn't like her.
