multi dr practices

I take the kids to a multi dr practice and the up side is that I can always get a Dr but I feel that doing that they don't really know my kids. Secondly its interesting to see what advice they recommend being they are not all by the book with food, prescribing meds etc

If you have similar peds office do you stick with just one Dr or see all of them? And why?

I see one main doc for all my well visits. I always request her for sick, but if she's not in (they take one rotating day off a week), I'll see someone else. My doctor told me when I interviewed with her that even though it's a big practice, she tries to treat her patients like she's the only one there. If my kids are sick on a day she is in, she will definitely see them.

I have our main dr for well visits and prefer to have him when dd is sick. We have seen other doctors and they have given us very differing advice on things and even gave us a scare so made they told us to go to the er straight from the office.

I try to steer clear of the other drs. It's amazing how diff each dr is within the same practice and their beliefs.

We use one main doctor at a multi doctor practice. I schedule all regular appointments with our pediatrician but I have options if we have an emergency.

I have my favorite - actually an order and I always try to book in that order. Sick visits I will take whatever and well visits I have a hard time since I can only go certain times due to work and daycare.

I haven't found that they have different opinions but then again I don't ask their opinion on many things. I vaccinate on their schedule and added foods in basically at their schedule but def did what I felt was right as a mom and went on my own for most things.

I go to a multi practice office. We use one doctor for well visits. The couple of times that we had to go to the office for sick visits we saw a different doctor but they were great so I had no issue.

I see my dr for all well visits... in cases of emergency visits or last minute i will see whoever is available if my dr is not...

I find that they have a similar philosophy... my dr is a very conservative physician who believes in alternative medicine and i find his associates are the same...

I have been very happy with all the drs at my practice...

My doctor knows AJ. But that said, I've seen all the doctors there at different times for different reasons.

On accused me of child abuse because I broke up the shots. I refused to allow her to see my daughter ever again (yes I gave her a piece of my mind - She was let go less than a year later). Another thought I was over reacting about the tubes in her ears then before the visit was up she was nearly accusing me of not taking her to an ENT in time *pfft*.

I like my doctor the best. My hubby likes two of the other doctors more than the one I have as AJ's primary. I respect those two fairly well actually. I just 'like' mine. LOL

Yes its nice to have different points of view. One of the '2' above is much older and a lot more lay back - very 'old school' which is REALLY nice sometimes! The other is into non medical solutions to everything which is good ... to a point. My doc I think is half way between.

Re: multi dr practices

For dd1 the interviewing ped was great then she went out on medical leave and hasn't returned. Then the other one is more alternative and the other is very sweet. I am thinking I need to choose one of those 2 but my luck, one is out with a healing broken back from the winter ice.

I think that will make sure my daughter are familiar. I hate having to repeat everything each time I see someone.

Thanks everyone

Re: multi dr practices

I like to see different doctors, I like getting different points of view. I basically end up taking whichever doctor has an available appointment that fits our schedule best. I can't say that there's any one doctor of the group that I dislike.
