Moyel fee for a bris?

I am due early September & we are team green! I have to start inquiring about a Moyel if we have a boy. Does anyone know what they charge to do a bris at your home. Also, I was given the name of a Moyel used by a friend but if you have any recommendations, I would appreciate it! Thanks.

Most mohels charge around 800. My son is 2 but I believe that's the going rate. Let me know if you would like our mohels info.

Agree with PP that $800 is standard for a mohel. We used Cantor Philip Sherman and I'd highly recommend him. He was really quick (yet precise!) and had a great personality.

Also want to add that if you have a boy, you'll probably want a few names of Mohels unless you're very flexible with the time since they will book "first come, first served" based on who calls them first for that date. And none will book ahead of time since you won't know what date you'll have the baby.

We used Cantor Sherman also and loved him, although I think we paid around $500 (in 2010).

We also used Cantor Phil Sherman and were very happy with his service. I don't remember how much he charged in 2007 but I am sure it went up since then. I think it was more than 500 though. edit to say the price was 700 for us in 2007, so you got a great "deal" at 500. I did not negotiate his fee.
