Moving to size 4 diapers?

Why is that size 3 diapers fit up to 28lbs, but they're already too small on my 21-22lb DD? They're getting too snug on the sides and today, I noticed they are chafing her. Poor girl! Does any baby ever make it up the upper weights? I feel like I've had to switch to the next size pretty early on with every diaper. I could kick myself because I recently bought a huge box!

Re: Moving to size 4 diapers?

My kids always outgrew their diapers WAY before they hit the weight limit. It's weird how it works. My almost 1 year old and my just 2 year old are BOTH in size 5s. And my 2 year old has been in size 5s for about a year. I can't explain it.

That being said, I have a good # of size 4s that I can't use. I'm in Western Queens. If you want them you can have them for free if you pick them up, or can meet in Lindenhurst during the week.

DD will be 17 months this week. She's 20 lbs and still in size 3.

Re: Moving to size 4 diapers?

I just moved DS up to size 4 because the poop kepts going up his back or front or out the sides. The weight on them said up to 28lbs and he's 20 so I thought I had a little while before he outgrew them. I got the size 4 and they are sooooooooooooo much better!!

My DD has been in size 4's for awhile now. I would say 2 or 3 months now. She is almost 13 months and 21lbs at her 1 year check up.

So odd how they work! DD is only 8 months and at least 21lbs!

Reese32, thank you so much for your offer, but I'm a little far from you—and I have a crazy week ahead so doubt I'll be able to get to Lindenhurst. But so nice of you to offer!

Re: Moving to size 4 diapers?

I guess it depends on the height and weight ratio. DS is super tall and skinny. He's 28lbs and still fits in a size 4.

Re: Moving to size 4 diapers?

Try a different brand. A size 3 in Pampers fits my DD very differently than a size 3 in Huggies and Luvs.

Re: Moving to size 4 diapers?

She is only 6 1/2 months, but very long. DD is in overnight size 4, and regular diapers size 3. I am making the switch to size 4's as soon as we are done with the rest of these 3's. She is 17lb, but I feel like these diapers are too small, and she is outgrowing them constantly.

DS is 13 months, 19 pounds and in size 4 even though Huggies box says the 3 goes up to 28 pounds. He can fit the 3, but I feel like the 4 is a better fit. My niece is 8.5 months, 19-20 pounds and fits in size 3.
