I can see why she is so upset to receive images she didn't consent to. It shouldn't have happened.
While she's suing now, I don't see her every destroying the only photos of her son that they have.

Just the mere thought that someone touched and held and played with her baby after she was the last one who should have held him makes me furious and so sad for this woman. OMG. I am sick to my stomach. How and why did this happen? And then to email them to her? OMG. SUE SUE SUE
yeah, thats what does it for me too, more so than the pictures.

I think she probably has her own pics that she and family took because the baby passed at 16weeks old.
This is so sad. I really feel bad for the family. It disgusts me that they were dressing and undressing and posing her boy after he passed ad he didnt request it. What were they thinking?

That poor woman. Good intentions or not, those pictures should never have been taken without her consent, nor should the baby have been posed as described.

I agree. I know there is a non profit organization that does this for parents who's babies have died but if the mother didnt give her consent they never should have taken pictures of her son. Such a horrible situtaion.
this too was my first thought - Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep is an non-profit organization. Professional photographers donate their time and their services to photograph terminaly ill children and those who have already passed for their parents. I think there was a gap in communication here but I do NOT believe that any ill will was meant in this case

How awful I don't blame that mother one bit for suing so this doesn't happen to someone else. One picture would be sufficient....outfit changes and posing?

I think the person who took the pictures thought they were doing something nice but they should have asked the mom. The baby was alive for 16 weeks, there was time for the mother to take pictures herself or to consent to a photographer taking pictures.

OMG how awful! My SIL just went through a loss at 21 weeks and I can only imagine how distressing this is to the mother. Terrible!!!!!!

I don't think enough people understand this....
She had 16 weeks worth of pictures of her son alive (one in the article), I can see why she'd be upset over an entire photo album of photos taken of her son's corpse WITHOUT her consent!
I'd sue too, in a heartbeat. I can't think of anything causing more emotional pain than this.
I know there are organizations that do this but I believe that is intended for children who died in utero or shortly after to help parents grieve the child and to have some photos of that child. And the parents give their consent. I know people who had the photos taken and that was the case for each. Not to mention the photos were taken with the parents present, not after the baby's body was taken away.

I think this is the crux of it. Maybe she would've felt differently if her son had died at birth. But he didn't. She had 16 weeks of happy memories, of photos, of him in outfits purchased by friends and family. That's probably how she wanted to remember him. Not some kind of taxidermy gone wrong thing. The fact that they were dressing him up like a little doll literally makes my stomach turn. I can't imagine wanting photos like that. I pray to God that I'm never in that position.
