Mortgage escrow question...
so I got an escrow shortage of $1200.
I paid it, and my monthly payment is still a little more that the used to be. DH said if we paid the shortage shouldnt it still stay the same??

They probably increased it to avoid the shortage next year.

They increased your monthly escrow payment to avoid the shortage next year--not that they know what they should have in your account.

They are taking into an account the increase in your taxes and possibly your Homeowners insurance as well...
