morning sickness..
For the past 3-4 days I've been very quesy. I knew in beginning morning sickness is common but is it common for it to be 24/7 with no break at all? I just wish for one day I can go most of day not feeling like I was to hurl. I haven't puked yet but always am quesy. Tried drinking lemon ginger tea, ginger lozengers eating saltines throught day/night! Nothin works.
If u had nausea bad was it always 24/7 or the 24/7 thing temprary til it switches to just part of day!
I can't even function at work!

Re: morning sickness..
yes, unfortunately i felt sick every day all day... it's very normal. try eating small meals- no big meals. just light snacks every hour. that helped me out a lot. and no, none of the ginger/saltines worked for me either. i'm out of the 1st trimester and i'm finally feeling a little bit better. i still feel nauseous from time to time but it's getting easier!

Re: morning sickness..
i feel nauseous all day every day, and have felt this way for the past few weeks (i'm 8w4d). been throwing up evey day for the past 2 weeks. i feel your pain, i barely make it through the work day. saltines helped me at first but now they make me gag. i've moved on to ritz crackers. i find that cheese helps me A LOT (i think it's the protein?) - i eat the sorrento reduced fat cheddar cheese sticks (think string cheese, but not stringy). ginger snaps help sometimes. granola bars. the lemon ginger tea - good luck and just know you're not alone!!!

Re: morning sickness..
I had absolutely no morning sickness my first trimester. Since week 14 to the present (34 weeks), I have gotten sick about once every 2 weeks. Here is what I have tried, which has helped:
Never take your prenatal on an empy stomach. I never do, but I have taken it two hours after dinner and whenever I do that...I always seem to get sick the next morning.
Eat something light before bed so your stomach isn't empty in the morning.
Eat every 2-3 hours. I found that keeping my stomach half full all day really helped. I recently ate lunch an hour later than usual and I got sick. Had I eaten at my regular time, I am certain that I would have been fine.
Always keep pretzels or saltine crackers in your purse.

Re: morning sickness..
I'm feeling blah. Not getting sick, but just not right. Even thinking about certain foods makes my stomach feel ill. I'm much more tolerable of carbs. I still get a tiny bit of period like cramps. Not as much as last week.
I get things done in spurts. Mop the bathroom floor, recline and read. Laundry, recline and watch tv. I'm exhausted otherwise.

I got the shakes today eating lunch later than normal. I also read that sucker candies help a ton to reduce nausea.

Re: morning sickness..
I take my prenatal at night to help.
While saltines helped, I really liked pretzel rods.
I cut gatorade/apple juice 50% to get something in me.
slow breathing - and if you can get outside or to some fresh air - that helped
I am on my feet most of the day and that did make me feel better than laying around. But there were days when that stunk too.
For me the good news was that it stopped all three times overnight. There today, gone tomorrow.

Re: morning sickness..
Thanks everyone for your advice. Just trying to take day by day. Hopefully this phase ends soon. Always thought pregnancy would be full of roses but boy was I wrong! At least the prize at the end makes it all worth it!
I just hope I feel better tomorrow as I have a 6 hour trip to portland oregon for work!

Re: morning sickness..
Ugh I've had it so bad, constant nausea and vomiting, night time is the worst. I'm now a little over 9 weeks and there has been improvement. I'm wearing sea bands. My boss suggested fresh ginger or candied ginger, so I'm looking into that next. Ginger Ale didn't work at all.

Re: morning sickness..
Ughh...I feel your pain m/s is terrible. With my first dc I had bad, it started early, 6 weeks and lasted until I was 14 weeks. It was the majority of the day and I always threw up. The only thing that helped me was bagels and apple juice. This time I've had it only in the late afternoon/evening.
Hang in there! Hopefully it will pass soon

Re: morning sickness..
I feel your pain 100%! I am almost 11 weeks and have felt nauseous almost every day, all day long since I was about 5 weeks! It is awful and debilitating, and I have a very energetic two year old to take care of. Not much helps, but what does for me is ice pops, cold grapes, ice cold water, caffeine free pepsi, carbs, eating ritz crackers in the middle of the night when i get up to pee, and jelly belly jelly beans. Oh, and lemon sorbet. Zofran makes me feel worse -- I get a "hangover" from it, and the wristbands really do nothing. I just keep my eyes on the prize -- 13 weeks -- that is when it disappeared with my DD.

Re: morning sickness..
Ughhh mine was HORRIBLE from weeks 6-14 lasted all day long and would even wake me up in the middle of the night. I found that ice pops helped me a TON especially lemon and orange flavored ones.

Re: morning sickness..
Weeks 7-20 were awful. It's just starting to ease up now but it's very gradual. Honestly, nothing really helped me. It's pure torture but for such a good cause

Re: morning sickness..
from 6 weeks to 12 weeks I threw up at least once every day. Now Im almost 14 weeks and last week I didnt throw up MOn-Fri, but still felt sick to my stomach. But at least it seems to be not as bad and hopefully will go away completely.
It stinks!
tips:
Always keep food in your stomach. Carbs helped me Sour things helped me. I would suck on these sour candies. Also peppermint helped.
It's not fun at all, but for most women it goes away in the second trimester.
Edit: Shakes and smoothies would help too!

Re: morning sickness..
I was the same way from weeks 7 to about 14... still nauseous at the thought of certain foods at week 17, but MUCH better.
I got a prescription from Zofran that got me through the worst days... it really took the edge off, but I was careful not to go overboard since it also constipates you. Maybe you can ask your doc about that?
Feel better!

Re: morning sickness..
I know exactly how you feel and it stinks!
The only thing that has really helped me so far is sour pickles and ginger chews.
I got these from Jandi's in Oceanside:

Today I went a bought a container of pickled ginger by the sushi section in King Kullen. So far so good, I've only thrown up once today.

Re: morning sickness..
It used to come in waves but morning was always horrible. I used to keep some saltines on my night stand and have 2/3 before I got up. Also don't eat too much or drink too much right away
Also read this post and try the lozenges. They are awesome!!!
