More than one car seat

I am researching convertible carseats for my daughter and going to get the Britax. Should I be getting one for each car? I only work part time but do I need one for my husband's car? With the infant carrier we had a base in each car but the carseat is a lot of money to buy two if not completely necessary.

i would get one in each car so that both of you can take your LO places, it would be a pain IMO to take the carseat out all the time... what about looking into less expensive car seats?

We have a less expensive car seat in DH's car as we use mine most of the time to bring the children everywhere.

Thank you! I was thinking of getting one this week for my car since I drive her around most of the time and then in a month we will get the 2nd one for DH's car

We actually only have a car seat in one of our cars. DH drives more of a sports car and while a car seat could technically fit, it means the passenger has to sit with their knees on the dashboard. I work PT and drive DH's car if he's home with DD. We don't mind swapping cars and it works out fine for us. When DD was in the infant seat we had a base in each car but only used DH's on occasion. It really wasn't even worth it, we never NEED to drive his car, kwim?
