posted on the parenting board

im just so drained from it all. a shower is not important compared to the baby being born and i really feel like im going to feel sad at the shower and should just skip it. i dont think i'll feel like i'll regret it.. but im now wondering if i will feel jealous going to baby showers in the future, because i could have had one, but not on any of my terms.

I think you should do it. It will be small and intimate. Try and think of it that way rather that it being dissapointing because it's small.

There is a great place in Wantagh. It is a tea room and would be a cool place to have a ladies lunch rather than a traditional shower. Or a Jack and Jill would be great too. Let your husband help with the planning. He will protect your interests and make it special for you.

I think you should have the shower. Maybe you can try to move it up so you are more comfortable. I wouldn't want you to regret not having one. Sorry this is so upsetting to you! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I say have it... but have it moved up so you are comfortable....

So what it won't be the same calilber as your bridal shower...it will be more intimate and more about the baby as it should be....

I went to a small shower last year- probably 10-15 people. It was lovely, and everyone had a great time. I wouldn't let that stop me if were you, but def. have the date bumped up if it makes you feel better!Chat Icon
