More panic with 5 weeks to go

I am not "done" being PG by any means...I absolutely love it and am afraid this was my one and only time to be PG so I am holding on. But I cannot wait to just have her because I am back in panic mode. Every morning I freak out until I feel her moving. If I don't feel her for a while I panic something happened with the cord. I panic that something will be very wrong when she is born.

Please tell me cord accidents are very rare and that chances are if there was anything really wrong a sono would have picked up on it. Chat Icon I just feel like my family is having a very bad streak of luck and I don't want to be hit by it.

Sorry for the whining but I am just a nervous wreck again.

I dont know the % of cord problems.. but i know what your feeling is perfectly normal. If you ever question not feeling the baby just lay down have a glass of OJ and feel for the baby.. i belive its 10 movements in an hour you should feel.. i could be wrong.. then if you still question call your OB.. im sure they will be there for you at every minute of the day.. plus you have us!!

Re: More panic with 5 weeks to go

I am sure it's very normal to start getting so nervous since you are so close to the "goal" !!!

But I am confident everything will be fine and anything negative is rare. Very rare. I really do understand though, and I am sure I will feel the same way.

Re: More panic with 5 weeks to go

I am going into major panic mode. The last few weeks all I've heard is gals that have gone anywhere from 3 - 5 weeks EARLY.

I dont have a pediatrician Chat Icon

My glidder isn't in yet.

talk about panic.

I have a doctors appointment on Tuesday and going to ask who he recommends and well that will be my pediatrician.

Chat Icon is still very active and if I dont feel him I drink something really cold or go poking at him. He definately responds with swift kicks to everything

Re: More panic with 5 weeks to go

what u feel is normal. i keep freaking out that my water will break any second while i am on the bus on the way to work. And I live in PA. I am scared out of my mind that this will happen. Movmt. slows down towards the end of the 3rd tri so dont worry if u dont feel a lot of kicks. She is running out of room and getting really big. If all has gone well with your pregnancy thus far there should be nothing to worry about.

I watched A Baby Story last night and the cord was wrapped around the baby's neck 3 times (Chat Icon ) and she was totally fine Chat Icon

Try and enjoy these last couple weeks and if you can't, just pray for early labor!! Chat Icon

Try not to worry. You ave had a great pregnancy so far and everything is fine. 99% of babies are born perfectly fine. You have NOTHING to worry about.Chat Icon

Re: More panic with 5 weeks to go

You'll be fine!

Cord problems are rare - at least among the people I know. In the last 11 years, my close friends and family have had 20+ babies and I haven't heard of any cord problems among them. Correction - there was one that they believed had a problem in utero but she was born 10000% healthy and is a beautiful 2 year old girl now.

Sit back, relax and put your feet up. This is your last opportunity to do absolutely nothing for a while! Chat Icon

I interviewed my pediatrician when I was 37 weeks preggo. They assign you one at the hospital anyway. You'll be fine.

No one really needs a glider (although they are really nice to have). You'll manage and you'll be fine.

I think it's first-time mom stress.... I have it too... I'm always worried that I'll be that one in a million who has wierd problem X happening Chat Icon

just keep reminding yourself that all the horrible things that happened in your family are NOT linked to your baby, and cannot influence her health......

you'll be fine.... if she's quiet, just drink something cold and sugary, or give her a tap. she'll move.

after a few days of intense activity, Scone has been somewhat quiet for the last couple days.... It's all part of his activity cycle... as long as he moves once in a while, I know he's ok in there....

Thanks. Chat Icon

It must be my hospitals thing that you cant get an epidural until you see the video. You have to watch a 10 minute video on how the epidural is administerred, what to expect and what happens after. So of course I had major panic mode thinking omg i havent seen the video, what if i go early will they not give me the epidural. This kid is going to have a head like a watermellon. So no baby better be coming anytime before Aug 2 when I do the tour and watch the video.

I know I'll be fine if the glidder isnt here yet, just anxious to get it so I can break it in Chat Icon

37 weeks. oh ok so i dont feel so bad

Re: More panic with 5 weeks to go

you will be fine. cord problems aren't common and would have been seen by now. DD had nuchal cord and everything was fine (it's fairly common), but they saw it on the u/s. don't think the panic will end when your LO gets here...you'll jump at every sound and movement early on, but will love every minute of it!

I can totally relate to how you feel. I thought it was just me that was freaking out about the cord thing. I guess that this is normal that we are nervous, we're first timers!
