Re: More Nostalgia - Old School Playgrounds!!!
Oh and remember what the baby swings used to look like. They looked like these square metal boxes. I have to say that the baby swings today are much better looking...

What about the teeter-totters? You could be mean and jump off, and make the kid on the other end slam into the ground

I used to do this to my sister

Does anyone remember the playground at Barnum Woods?? Those towers were like 15-20 feet off the ground and made of wood! They were so much fun.

Remember doing penny drops?
I could not imagine what chaos would breakout now if kids were lined up to do them.
  I loved the rockets.

The Hamburgler tower thing at McD's scared the living daylights out of me ....I always felt claustrophobic and terrified that I would get stuck up there!!

I loved the wooden playground at Abbey Lane School in Levittown. It was so sad when they tore it down a few years ago in order to replace it with a plastic one.

Um no. Sorry. Ed really wanted an outside wedding so I had my florist recreate a sunny grassy meadow outdoors in the middle of February just for him. The "outdoor inchworm hora" is a very secret ritual that dates back to the 16th century. I'm quite surprised you haven't heard of it.

Re: More Nostalgia - Old School Playgrounds!!!
We had a rainbow shaped monkey bar thing with peg rungs sticking out the sides at my school. I wore a hooded shirt one day and it got caught on a peg as I was dropping down between the rungs to jump off. I was being strangled by my shirt. I remember my friend screaming for the aide and that the scar from the burn around my neck took a long time to fade.
The rainbow was taken down shortly after. So yea, I'm all for safe equipment.
