i have white with dark blue monogram.
just be careful, they no longer offer all the thread colors for the monogram, i learned this after they sent me the wrong color 3 different times! call up and ask

I actually got off my registry (Thanks to babycote!!) monogramed hand towels from linens & things. There are basic white with dark black/purple letter D on them (for Dodge).

I seriously love those towels!! Dave finds it funny that I still remember who gave what about my bridal shower. HOW COULD I FORGET!!

I got monogram shams but I used a color for the sham and then the monogram in off white
I would not reccomend that - you can't see the monogram
def get a dark color for monogram and light color for towel

We were just given a monogrammed towel set - white towels with silver/grey lettering. Doesn't look washed out - you can clearly see the monogram.
