I plan on registering for the video monitors.
I babysit for a family that has this, and it is great peice of mind to be able to see the kids.
One time, the boy rolled himself up in his sheets, but did not make a sound, the mother was so thankful she had the video monitor

We decided to go with the Graco iMonitor - it's a video monitor but you have your own channel. THe summer monitors do not, and your signal can get crossed or even interrupted by a neighbor's signal.
The screen you carry around with you is the size of a fold-up cell phone so it is very convenient.
We also have a webcam in the room - DH is a computer geek.
PS since we didn't get it for the shower, I got it on eBay for $50 less than BRU. Image Attachment(s):

Do you live close to other families? I lived in an apartment building when my daughter was first born and had to try about four monitors before I found one that didn't get interference. I tried all the big names first and the one that worked was the cheapest one I tried -- the others I guess were too good so I was getting neighbors phone calls! heheh. So, my only advice is to try it out for a few days before you get rid of the box!
