Moms who know their way around the kitchen--stupid question

So I made a lasagna yesterday...right after I put it in the oven of course, DH calls to say he was working late and wouldn't be home for dinner. So I let if finish and then put it in the fridge to eat tonight for dinner.

Question is, do I just throw the entire lasagna back in the oven to cook again (reheat like that)? If so, covered or uncovered and for how long? Or should I just cut pieces individually and nuke them? I'm just trying to avoid it being dry now that it's been a day....what do you think?

If everyone is eating it. I'd cover it and put it in the oven. If it's just one or two pieces.. I'd cut the piece and nuke it.Chat Icon

i think it depends on how well cooked it was when you took it out. i.e., was the cheese on top browned? if so, nuking it might be the better option. if the cheese was still bubbly and not yet browned, probably fine to heat it up in the oven. i'd heat it in the oven on a low temp though, to avoid cooking it further.

Basically you never want to reheat anything more than once, so if there is a chance you won't eat the entire thing, just do small pieces.

I'd prob cut it into a few smaller pieces then heat it in the oven. Lasagna always takes a long time to reheat all the way through and then it ends up being dry.

We definitely won't be eating the entire thing...it will def last us tonight and tomorrow. So I'll just cut our pieces and microwave them then.

This is what I would do too, I'd also heat up a little extra sauce to have with it.

yes,

but I would also take the pieces out way before hand and let them come to room temp before reheating. less drying all around and it heats faster and more evenly.

I'd also consider freezing a bunch so that you have it later on.
