Moms-to-be on Mothers Day
Are you (or your DH) celebrating Mothers Day for yourself?
Will you be getting your husband (father-to-be) something on Fathers Day?
Im just curious. Im not sure what the "rule" is on that.

Re: Moms-to-be on Mothers Day
I actually asked DH about this the other day, half joking/ half serious. He looked at me funny. he told me I'm not his mom and he is not my dad so presents would not be expected even when the LO is here! I said what about the fact that the baby can't buy a gift for quite a few years. He said we'll discuss!
So I don't think we are doing anything for Mother's or Fathers Day this year...for us anyway!

Re: Moms-to-be on Mothers Day
i dont know what we're doing yet on mother's day but i dont think we're celebrating anything for myself lol. i already got 2 mom-to-be mother's day cards in the mail (from MIL and my aunt) and i thought it was so cute and sweet. i dont know if DH will get me a card. i do plan on getting him a card for father's day though. flowers would be thoughtful... if he comes up with that on his own lol.

No we did not. Once DD was born we celebrated that Mothers/Fathers day as our first.

I won't be celebrating for myself. I'd rather wait for my first mother's day to be when I can actually hug her :)

We're not doing anything. I am very superstitious and it would feel strange to me.

I don't want to celebrate it until next year when the baby is here and it truly is my first Mother's Day.

We decided not to, but because the twins have forced us to buy a new car. So we are saving as much as possible.

Re: Moms-to-be on Mothers Day
My mother bought be a mother's day gift and I freaked out, so she renamed it a "late Easter present".
DH mentioned last night that now he has more mothers to buy for, and I freaked out again. He was pretty happy, he said cool, saves me money
I just find it jinxy and don't feel comfortable with it, I was even a little frantic when DH got me a baby carriage and little girl charm for my Pandora bracelet for my bday. So needless to say I won't be getting him a Father's Day gift either, though if I go early he could be getting a baby on Father's day lol.

Re: Moms-to-be on Mothers Day
I know for a fact DH was at the mall today getting me a mother's day gift. However, he has always gotten me something from our "fur babies" for mother's day. My doggies even get me a card and one year they sent me to Jamaica (with Daddy's help...lol). DH uses any little excuse to buy me something. I also know my mom will def. get me something, thats just how she is. We are not superstitious at all. My MIL on the other hand. She is a bit more cautious, so we will see.

Re: Moms-to-be on Mothers Day
Definitely not doing anything or exchanging gifts. We probably won't next year either, we are just not into these holiday's and don't even do anniversary gifts. I know this is odd!
