Moms that Didn't BF
How/when did the weight come off after you had the baby?
Did it come off quick, slow?
Everyone says you lose weight quicker when you BF, I don't think i did with DD, just want to see how the non BF moms did. I am contemplating not BF'ing with #2.
Thank yoU!

I don't know if this helps but I didn't Bf exclusively. I supplemented about half her intake with formula because I never produced enough regardless of what I did. I gained about 30lbs and it was off within 2 weeks.

Re: Moms that Didn't BF
I didn't BF....I am 3 months postpartum and have 13 pounds more to go. I gained 40 with the boys and lost 27 of them pretty quickly (I would say by 5-6 weeks). These last 13 pounds though are still here. However, i have been so busy with the boys I have not had anytime to exercise or watch what i eat. I just started doing that this week.

Re: Moms that Didn't BF
I gained 50 pounds and didn't bf. After Jared was born the first 40 pounds came off rather easy. The last 10 took a few months. I was back to normal around the 10-11 month and lost more weight since then.
It will take a good year to get back to "normal".

Re: Moms that Didn't BF
This is what i am figuring, it doesn't matter if you bf or not.
I gained 50+ pounds with DD, i lost 35lbs within 2 months, and then the last 15 came off REALLY slow. I had 5-7 lbs to lose to be at/below weight when I became pg again, i was 6 months PP when I got pg again.
I am hoping it doesn't matter and that you lose weight quicker when you BF didn't work for me the first time and wont' matter if i decide to bottlefeed #2

Re: Moms that Didn't BF
Your body burns 500 calories a day when you BF. For some women that really makes a difference. I actually GAINED weight when I stopped nursing.

Re: Moms that Didn't BF
I gained 30 lbs and lost it all but 5 lbs by the time I came back to work when DS was 2 months old and I did not BF.

This is what I had hoped for :) I was the exact opposite. I lost 10lbs within a month of stopping, the weight came off quicker when i stopped.

Re: Moms that Didn't BF
I started out BF-ing and lost 27lbs right off the bat, but then I lost nothing. the hormones from bf-ing were actually keeping my weight loss really slow. The second I stopped bf-ing, the weight melted off.

This happened to me. I only had about 10-12 lbs to go when I stopped and when I got my BFP I had 20lbs to go.

Re: Moms that Didn't BF
I didn't BF at all and at my 1 week PP visit I lost 27 lbs. After that I had about 20 lbs to lose and lost it all within 2-3 months with Weight Watchers. It came off quickly and in a relatively short period of time.

Re: Moms that Didn't BF
I didn't BF and gained about 30lbs or so. I lost the pounds quickly - I can't remember exact timing. Within a week or two I was within 10lbs and definitely by the time I went back to work - 12-14 weeks I was at my normal weight. I didn't watch what I ate or exercise so I think that was pretty good. Now back to my normal figure and getting rid of that stretched belly flab - that took longer. Little by little - it got better. Mentally - it took a full year to feel better about myself even though I was back to wearing my normal clothes way before then.
