Moms: Please recommend your DURABLE kitchen table!
Our current kitchen table was TRASHED by my 2 DS (ages almost 4 and 2). It is where they eat, color, paint, play, etc etc. It is full of scratches, dents, glitter
There is no refinishing... One of the chairs recently broke, and this is the last straw. I want something new.
Those with kids, what do you have as a kitchen table?
Thank you!

Not sure who makes mine (think I got from Levitz yrs ago) but its that cherry wood one with the high chairs. I have a table cloth and a clear plastic cover b/c my kids have dented it and spilled stuff on it. I used to use a maple hard sturdy table that was so heavy. The chairs the same they are the high ones too and was perfect but we redid our kitchen. I was going to sell it.

Re: Moms: Please recommend your DURABLE kitchen table!
I just got a new kitchen table a few months ago from All Discount Wood Furniture on Route 110.
I got a round wood table with 4 chairs. The table has a leaf that stores in the pedestal base and opens it up to a larger oval table. I think it's 36" round when closed.
We eat at the kitchen table almost every day, unless we are entertaining (and then use the dining room). And my 4 year old loves to do play-dough, crafts, drawing, etc. on the table, so I didn't want anything super expensive.
I was happy with All Discount Wood Furniture - the price was significantly lower than other places I looked... I did a lot of comparison shopping, because I didn't want to spend a lot, given the expected wear and tear on the table. But the quality is very good, very solid and it looks like it was more expensive than it was. It fits perfectly in my eat in area, and I like that it opens up because I will sometimes set up a buffet in the kitchen for a party, so it's nice to have the option of a larger table, if needed.

We are getting ours from Raymour and Flanigan and plan to cover it with a clear plastic cover.
