DH has always put DD to bed since I am usually at work at that time. Now that I am out on maternity leave, whomever is not busy doing something at 7pm will give her the bottle and DH will put her in the crib. Chat Icon

I always put Ryan to bed until we stopped BFing at about 13 months.

He probably would have gone down relatively easy for DH, maybe only 5 minutes of crying. But, he was such a good sleeper at night I was petrified of something ruining it.

We always do bedtime together. DH will always give them a bath if it is bath night or get them changed into their jammies on other nights.
Then we both feed them their bottles, he reads a story, and we put them to bed together. He would be totally capable of doing it on his own if I wanted to go somewhere. He has done it before and wouldn't have an issue doing it more often if I asked him to.

DH almost always does it b/c he'll fight sleep with me. DH will rock him for a few minutes and he'll fall asleep. If I try to rock him, he'll try to climb on me. I guess I'm not that comfortable. Chat Icon I used to put him to sleep a lot by nursing him, but he stopped nursing right before bed months ago.

I usually nurse DD to sleep as well so if she falls asleep then Im the one putting her down. If she doesnt fall asleep after eating Ill have DH rock her to sleep.

We alternate. I would maybe do a trial run when you are just in another part of the house to make sure she is ok with it if you are worried.

Definitely let him do it - the earlier the better. They learn verrrrrrry quickly to have preferences so if you always put her to bed she may give DH a hard time down the road if he tried. You need a break too Chat Icon

DH does it every night unless he is working overtime. He doesn't get much time with DD so he likes doing bedtime.

I think it would be GREAT if you could get out and have DH share in the bedtime responsibilities.
