Mom's of early risers- question

Has anyone been successful at getting their DC to sleep later? DS gets up at 5:30 religiously and I can tell he is still tired. Any suggestions?

I've tried it all. The only thing that worked with my oldest was goblet him curl up in our bed with either DH ot I. But since I have a little guy who.is up religiously up @ 430, my oldest rarely sleeps past 5.

I have gone through this with DS too. I make a cut off time before which I do not go and get him. At first, it was six o'clock. So if he starts before six, I won't go in until six. I am gradually making the time later, and he is responding. It's been several weeks, but he went from getting up (tho tired like your DS) at 4:45 to getting up at 7:10 this morning!

Ive tried everything. The kid is a freaking morning person. I could put him to bed at midnight, and henis up by 5:30. I swear he thinks hes a rockstar.

I've tried it all too.

Jack was like this when he was younger too, and now at 4 he will sleep till 7 (which is amazing)

Tyler (2 on Sat) gets up at 5:30 everyday. I tried making his bedtime later (from 6:30 to 7:30) but he's still waking up at 5:30 - so I'm putting him back down early again starting tonight.

He is happy and well rested when he wakes up. Basically starts tearing apart my house at this time. Drives me crazy but I have to pray he outgrows it like his brother did.

Thanks ladies. I think I'm going to try and leave him in his crib a little longer and pray that he out grows this!

I just moved Sash to a bed-- I would try to leave her for a little when she was in a crib, but now I can't since the bed is so new. I am gonna try a trick my friend told me about-- getting an alarm clock and tell her she can't call for me until after the songs or whatever play. She had a princess one that played songs-- but her DD is 6.5, so I will try to find something like that.

We've been up even earlier than normal in this house for the last week, and I have about 3.5 months to get a little more sleep, then it's all over when DS arrives!

No matter what time he goes to bed he still gets up early. He likes going in at 7 pm so I just stick with that unless we're out. I also started my 3 month old on the same schedule. At least I have some time at bight to myself and with DH to do things, clean, have a glass of wine, etc.

DD is up between 5-530 every morning. The only thing that's worked is nursing her and putting her back in her crib. She talks to herself for a bit, and sometimes she's cry for a minute, but then she falls back asleep.

I think you just weaned your son, so maybe just let him hang out in his crib? He might put himself back to sleep.

eta: We're going to have to look up these posts in 15 years when our kids try to sleep until noon!

DS always wakes up anywhere from 6-7am. if hes up at 6 i leave him there and dont get him any earlier than 630am. Only on a few occassions has he fallen back asleep when I leave him.

nope. DS is almost 3 and only recently has he been sleeping to 7am. He was alway up by 6 am. My 9 month old seems to be the same although she is up at 530am!
