When did you stop using the potty seat. My ds stands for pee but will only use a potty seat to go poop. Curious when they got comfortable just holding on to the seat.

Around 4 yrs..my son took forever to get the hang of it. Whenever he is comfortable is when I would have him try without it

Re: moms of boys
We never used one. They just Learned they needed to hold themselves up if they didn't want to fall in lol

DS decided he was done with the potty seat at 3.5. Just decided he didn't want to use it. Sometimes he stands to pee, other times he sits.
Don't know how old your DS is but give him time. He needs to feel safe and not worry about falling in.

i potty trained DS was he was 2 months shy of 3 years old. he used the potty seat for a few months and then we switched to the portable seat on the toilet. then about 3.5 DS didn't want to use it anymore and i used a stool by the toilet so he can reach it with his feet. he's almost 4 now and a few months ago we stopped with the stool.

He is almost 5 - he has been trained for about 18 months but doesn't feel comfortable with the idea of holding himself or even me holding him. So he insists on some type of potty seat. At least its only for poop :) I will give him more time no reason to make him uncomfortable but I was curious to see how long everyone had to use it for.

maybe try using a stool so at least his feet are resting on it and it's not dangling in the air?

Best product ever is the regular seat with a smaller seat built in. The smaller seat sort of snaps into the lid, held by a magnet. They sell it at home depot. Comes in round and elongated.

Re: moms of boys
DS is 4.5 and small for his age. He still likes using a potty seat to poop. He also likes his privacy.

DS will be 4 next month. He stands to pee, but still insists on using the potty seat to poop. A PITA when we are out, but at least he is now willing to use the fold-up seat.
