Moms of 2under2 - Strollers and Cribs?
I think most of you know now that I'm going to be a mom of 2under2, god willing all continue to go well with this pregnancy. I'm 7w4d and saw the little peanut on Monday
Sorry back to topic. DS will be 18 months when the LO is born. What did you do for a stroller? Did you go with a double stroller or really found it not worth it?? Since this baby will be a new born artound fall/winter I doubt I'll be going out on leisuerly walks like I did with DS since he was a spring/summer newborn.
As for sleeping arrangements. We'll be using the FP Rock & Play sleeper with our new born at first but when it comes time to transition to the crib, not sure what to do. DS will probalybe around 21 or 22 months when we want to transition the new baby to the crib. Should I get another crib or transition DS to a bed?
Just thinking about these things...I can't even beleive it sometimes that I'll be a mom of 2 under 2.

IMO you'll need a double stroller even when the spring comes around. My 's are 15months apart (#1 Dec & #2 Mar). I use the double stroller alot especially at the mall.
As for sleeping arrangements I think that's a personal preference. I did not have the money to pay for a 2nd crib so we put DS#1 in a toddler bed when he was 14months. DS#2 is now in the crib.
ETA: Congratulations!

Re: Moms of 2under2 - Strollers and Cribs?
I am going to be a mom of 3 under 2- but my plan is get two more cribs and a double stroller than can hold three
i love to walk and fresh air is great for babies - it reallly helped my ds get his days and nights straight - i just bundled him up
my son's crib converts to a full bed and the new cribs i will get i don't care if they convert to a full or not - space is more of an issue - plus if he is staying in the crib i am not moving him - but i fugre i have time - i won't order the cribs till my twins are born

Re: Moms of 2under2 - Strollers and Cribs?
My boys are 10.5 months apart (July & September), I made it a point to get a double stroller immediately. If I went out to a store that did not have a cart, I used the double stroller plus up until November, I took the boys for walks.
We did purchase another crib for our new guy bc the set we have is a convertible crib. Our first born was suppose to be only 1 yr when his brother arrived & we knew it was too early to put him in a bed plus both our boys never slept in bassinetts, they were in their cribs from day 1

My 1st 2 are 15 months apart.. & my best friends were "dairy barn" and my double stroller. seriously. get the double stroller it will keep you sane for the next few years ;)
as for the crib situation, I put ds #1 in a toddler bed at 20 months old (just long enough to get ds #2 out of the basinet and he was fine w/ the transition.

Re: Moms of 2under2 - Strollers and Cribs?
My boys are just under 2 years apart--second one was a winter baby and I still got a ton of use out of the double stroller. As soon as it was 40+ degrees out we went walking, I would put them in the stroller to go to Target or whatever. I ended up getting another crib as my older DS loved his crib and I planned on converting it to a full size bed anyway. I ended up converting his crib to a toddler day bed when the baby was about 6 months old, but every kid is different. HTH!

Re: Moms of 2under2 - Strollers and Cribs?
My boys were 15 months apart, definitely need double stroller. We got an extra crib from my brother, the boys actually shared a room until the little guy was 2 and it worked out good. I would recommend trying to find a crib and not rush the other baby out so soon. JMHO congrats and good luck

You need a double stroller. If anything, it holds your toddler in while you are tending to your newborn. It's not easy to run after a 1.5 year old while holding an infant car seat.
We bought a new convertible crib for DD. She is in her crib now, and DS is in his, but converted to a toddler bed.

Re: Moms of 2under2 - Strollers and Cribs?
I'm a 2 under 2 mom with them being 13 months apart.
A double stroller is a must. We use ours alot. Even now in the winter i take them both out in the double stroller. Helps me keep track of my older DD since she likes to run. Right now mine are 21 months and 8 months and they both are still in the double stroller. i was looking into the sit and stand but honestly, my 21 month old likes the actually sseat in the stroller so i think she's too young for only that.
And we do have 2 cribs since DD was only 13 months when her sis was born.
Now at 21 months we are contemplating transitioning to the toddler bed but are still waiting.
As for the crib, i would probably wait to see if you need another one or not.
