Mommies who uses the drop-in type bottles
I assume you'd have to make the formula in a separate container? Do you make a big batch at once? What do you do when you have to go out? Do you pre-made the bottle and bring in the diaper bag?
Sorry for the dumb questions, I need your expertise! TIA

Re: Mommies who uses the drop-in type bottles
I dont make the formula separately. When we are home, I boil water and leave it covered at room temperature. Abby will drink formula at room temp so we do not need to heat it. We make bottles as we need them as if we end up NOT using the formula, we would have to dump it if we didn't use it within 24 hours.
For day care, I make them the night before and they are used by the same time the next day.
If we are on the go, I have a container of pre-measured powder (3 sections), a few drop ins with a nipple and cover and a bottle of water.

thanks Leslie. I was wondering since it doesn't look like you can shake the drop-in bottles to mix the powder, do you make the formula in another container then pore it into the drop-in?

We pour the water, and add the formula to the bottle then shake.
If we are going out, we fill all the bottles with water that we'll need, and we have the same container that Leslie has with the 4 compartments to store the powder in.

Yes you can sake the drop ins to mix the powder. I've done it before. I know it seems like it would spill, but it doesn't.

I make each bottle seperately. I pour the water in, measure hte formula and drop it in, and stir (or shake). If i travel, I take a bottle with water measured out and formula measured out seperately and combine them while i am out. Or the same during the night when we are up in DDs bedroom....if it's already mixed you have to refrigerate, but you don't of course if it hasn't been mixed yet.

Re: Mommies who uses the drop-in type bottles
It does not spill when you shake it if you screw the nipple on tight enough and use a cover. I never had a problem with spilling.
After a while, if you know how many in a day you will use (assuming you have a good schedule which I don't), you can make the amount of bottles in advance.
I OVER prepare for day care in the event I get stuck in traffic or in a meeting. What I dont use, I will take home and use that night. Day care will NOT mix formula or cereal for the kids - against their rules.
