The funeral was today. It was hard and very emotional, but seeing all the people who turned out to honor my mother was overwhelming. People who had worked with her 10 years ago and hadn't seen her since then were there. Friends of mine from work who never even met my mother were there to support me. Same with my father and sister. It was amazing, and made me and my family feel so loved and supported, which is just what we need right now.
In the face of something so tragic, it reminds us how much love is around us, and ironically, it's almost beautiful.
