Mom/Dads of 18-24m, current or BTDT
My 23m old dd for the past month refuses to nap.. we havent had a nap in along time. Is this bad for their health?
I try and put her down but she just screams, so I started putting her on couch with blanket and that worked for one day.. but now she lays down for like 5 mins and kicks off blankets and says done. She then goes down for bed at 9:30-10 and doesnt wake up until next morning at 9am. Is 12 hours enough sleep..
Does anyone elses toddler not nap?

My oldest stopped napping when he turned 2, my second stopped napping at 28 months, and my youngest will be 2 in a few weeks and REFUSES to nap. If I want her to nap, I have to drive.... and drive.... and drive.....
Edited to add: Its not necessarily bad for their health, just YOUR mental health

Same here with the driving.. I did that a couple of times when she got SUPER crankie and wouldnt go down. But thats an exspensive nap so I had to stop it. Plus naps are supposed to be time for me to clean and get stuff done and cant if im driving..

I think that sounds young to not nap at all. I do not think it is bad for their health though. DD#1 napped til she was 3 1/2 or so and DD#2 is 16 months and takes a 3 hour nap everyday

I feel your pain. The only thing that SOMETIMES works, is if I put her in my bed and turn on Noggin. She will rest SOMETIMES for an hour, not sleeping but resting.

12 hours is enough sleep.
some kids give up naps even younger.
if she is tired enough during the day after no napping, she may fall asleep earlier.
my DS gave up his naps for 2 weeks, and then went right back into them.
it could be a phase

Oh I pray its a phase!! and hoping it ends soon. She LOVES the outdoors.. so I think she thinks napping will take away that time to be out. I dont get how she has sooo much energy.. shes not stop. Ill have to keep trying the naps on the couch more, the crib is too hard, she just screams her head off and CIO wont work.

Same here, but I decided that if he wasn't napping at all, not only was I not getting the cleaning done, but he was a MESS by 5:00 and he goes to bed at 7:30. I still take him for a drive if I can't get a nap at all, because he still needs one. If I see him not nap and not falling apart by 5pm, then I would assume he doesn't need one anymore.
