MMR vaccine question...
My DS got the mmr vac about 8 days ago. So far he seems totally fine and hasn't gotten a reaction. You think there's still time that he could possibly get one?
I have an appt tomorrow for him to get the flu shot with his older brother. Just wondering bc I didn't want him to get both last week, which is why the Ped scheduled it for tomorrow.

Re: MMR vaccine question...
i think the typical reaction appears around 10-12 days post injection. my son had a very mild reaction at 10/11 days

Re: MMR vaccine question...
DD#1 had her reaction day 9. Ped had said I think reactions were 8-14 days later. I could be wrong but I thought you had to have 30 days between shots I would hold off.

Oh, I never heard of that. We've done two vaccines in one visit. Actually, I think there was a time he did two and then one oral one. Never had a reaction to any so far. He actually got the mmr and another vaccine last week. I can't remember for what, but it was a booster.
So you think the flu shot is too soon?

Re: MMR vaccine question...
They want 30 days between 2 LIVE vaccines. Like if you are splitting chicken pox and MMR- they make you wait 30 days. For a live and a killed- like the flu shot- you shouild be ok Just ask the ped to be sure
ETA- DD got a fever exactly 7 days after her MMR- but that was it. Nothing else. Dr said reactions could take up to 14 days to show up though...

Ok... Thanks! That makes sense. He's the one that said to do the flu over a week later so I assume it's ok. Don't want to wait too long either for flu since its the season. Thanks all

MMR vaccine question...
My DD got MMR and flu this past weekend together. She was supposed to get the chicken pox too, but I asked to split them up. The ped said the chicken pox and MMR have to be given together or a minimum of 30 days apart, so we scheduled that one for a month from now. So far, no reaction to the MMR, but like the others have said, I've read that it's the 8-14 day time period after the shot where the reactions show up.

But they were at the same time. I know my ped told us to wait 30 days before getting another vaccine. We could get 2 at once but they didn't want DD getting a shot and coming back 2 weeks later for another.
