I think Betty has some interesting fantasies we may learn more about in the upcoming episodes. This episode seemed to strongly suggest that we will be delving a little more into Betty's psyche this season.

I'm also confused about the violin girl.
is she a family friend's daughter whose mom died? Where is the dad?
And yeah, that was really creepy on Betty's part. I preferred peppy, preppy Betty. I wish they'd grow her hair out. She's just as pretty as Meaghan but the hairstyle is dowdy.

... I'm interested to see if that was meant literally, as in ... her and him.
He is having a major identity crisis all around.
His encounter with the soldier, the photographer telling him just to be himself during the photoshoot, etc.
We'll see.
I'm glad the old Don is back. I hate seeing him behave.

I think she is just a friend of Sally's. I assumed she lived with the dad, but he just didn't pay much attention to her.
