I am supposed to have surgery tomorrow and just reading the form. Maybe I read it already and wasn't paying attention, but it says no asprin two weeks prior to surgery and I took two five days ago. I don't know what to do. Did anyone do this?Chat Icon

I would call your doctor. The reason they say no aspirin is because it thins your blood, and you risk excessive bleeding during the surgery.

I am definitely no doctor but I would be surprised if taking just two five days ago would have any effect. That is not much.

I recently had a procedure and wasn't supposed to take aspirin or ibuprofen for several days. Of course I forgot and ended up taking ibuprofen the very night before. They weren't concerned at all and it had no effect. Obviously I'd mention it, but I think they will say it's fine. Good luck!

Similar. I am sure it's fine but call dr. to let them know and ask. I took 2 days before colonoscopy for a migraine, forgetting I wasn't supposed to but they said not to worry.
