mini dilemma
my friend/coworker just told me she made cupcakes and i should come by her desk around lunchtime to get one.
I said "great, can't wait" ... then she told me they're St Patty's cupcakes with booze in them (in the frosting too so it's not cooked out or anything).
I'm not ready to tell her (or anyone) I'm preggo until i'm out of the 1st trimester ... how do i politely decline the cupcake after already expressing my excitement to eat one?

Can you get away with taking it back to your desk and scraping off the frosting and eating the rest? Or is that why she wants you to come by her desk so no one else sees her cupcakes? lol I have the same dilemma (sort of), I'm going out after work with a few co-workers, but hoping I can discreetly tell the bartender to pour me an Odouls in a glass or something (I am a beer drinker and I think everyone will know something's up if I try to say I'm getting some fruity cocktail that's really a virgin drink in disguise lol). It's funny how alcohol is the biggest factor that can out you with friends or coworkers!!

Can you tell her you had a cupcake with booze in the frosting in the past but didnt care for it.

I would say take the cupcake go back to your desk and then toss it when no one is looking... I used to do that all the time when people didnt know and they offered me stuff I couldnt eat or drink... LOL

Hmm, that's not a bad idea. I hope it doesn't get awkward though for me to leave without trying it there first (maybe i can say that i haven't eaten lunch yet and will save the cupcake for dessert)
Good luck with going out after work tonight! I think the Odouls in a cup is prob the best route for you. It's either that or apple juice
