Milk- silly question

DD was on powdered formula.

Transitioned to whole milk.

I never had to keep anything cold when we went out. How does everyone keep their DCs whole milk cold when they are out and about? Do I need to carry a cooler pack now?

Sorry for the really silly question. I don't drink milk myself so I don't even know what it would taste like if it was bad. Milk always tastes bad to me!

If I'm going out to let's say the mall, sometimes I'll bring an empty bottle and buy a small milk at the mall and pour it in bottle. Or, I will wrap her milk- filled bottle with one of those igloo freezer packs (looks like a sheet of ice cubes) and then put them in a plastic bag, and toss in the diaper bag. I only have to worry about bringing 1, since she only has an afternoon and nite time bottle. Otherwise I just bring her sippy with water

Dd only gets 2 milk sippys a day. If i do bring and will be out for a while I have a cooler bag and an ice pack. If not milk lasts a while before going bad so if she's going to drink it soon I just put it my bag.

You can buy milk boxes (like juice boxes) for when you go out. They do not need to be refrigerated. But yes, if you plan to bring sippys or bottles of milk then you would need to keep it cold. Honestly it is very easy to keep cold and not a big deal - but of course the milk boxes are just the easiest because you have to do nothing (although they DO taste better cold). I just got a small lunch container or insulated bag threw in the milk sippy/cup and one or two ice packs depending on where we were going and how hot it was outside. It didn't take up that much room.

I generally only give DD 2 sippys of milk a day (breakfast and after dinner), so when we go out she only gets water. Once in a blue moon she'll ask (by signing) for milk and I'll just buy a little one wherever I am.
