MIL vent...You want me to purposefully get her sick????
This is why DH doesn't want DD to see MIL often...
DH realized that his mom hadn't seen the baby since Christmas. So we met up at the food court at the mall with her for a quick lunch.
First, she brought DD a cute easter basket with a cute stuffed bunny - but she put a chocolate bunny in it - then was angry with DH when she wanted to give it to DD to eat and he said she doesn't eat chocolate much less solid food yet (she isn't a big eater). She told us she was going to give it to her anyway so DH had to take it and put it across the table from her.
Then she says we coddle DD too much - and that she doesn't understand why we don't take her around people who are sick so she can get a cold or small virus
YES - she says it is horribly unhealthy that DD has never been sick and that we need to get her at the very least a cold sometime soon?????? 
Sorry we take her to classes and play dates - but she has been very lucky that she has never been sick to this day...Knock on wood. Then she goes on about how DH's neices and nephews are never sick (two different years on christmas eves we went to see them only to find out the whole family had a bad stomach flu only two days before but didn't tell us until about 1 hr into the dinner) - so that is just not true. Plus DH says they are often sick.
And then after that comment she wondered why DH told her when she BEGGED to babysit that it just wasn't going to happen that he doesn't trust her to watch DD.
Then after the lunch (during which she grabbed DD out of my arms twice - but DD hates going to her and screams when she holds her) she tells DH that even though she told us before she met up with us that she had allergy issues she didn't really have allergy issues but in fact she had a cold.

sounds like my MIL!!!
Feeds my DD when she was 10 months old buffalo wings, hamburger and almost beer, but I caught her in enough time to stop her (you can't imagine the projectile vomiting that came after that)
Has us come to xmas dinner when some of the other kids have stomach flus. And to top it off comes to my house after being tested for shingles while I was in my 1st trimester with DC #2 and DD hadn't had her Chicken Pox vaccine yet

WOW, OMG that is so terrible! I am sorry you have to deal with a MIL like that.
I feel like some of the grandparents totally forget how to raise children sometimes.

Thank you all for letting me vent....
See this is why we didn't see BIL and SIL for Christmas eve this year - although we really wanted to - on Christmas MIL said the whole family had stomach flu over the weekend she found out when she went (and Christmas eve was Monday) -
Listen I know my child WILL get sick at some point but I'm not going to purposefully take her someplace where I know someone is sick - I would never wish getting sick on my worst enemy. That is just horrible.
Unfortunately - I think she is definitely "off".
