MIL
Other than giving birth & raising your DH, give me the top 3 BEST things about your MIL.
No backhanded comments (ie she lives far away) allowed - just compliments.
I'll go first:
1 - Truly wants the best for everyone
2 - Makes the best eggplant parm ever.
3 - Would never intentionally hurt anyone.

I feel so blessed to have a wonderful MIL. Although things were rocky when Dh & I were first married, we have become so close the past five years. Here's my list:
1- My mom is really sick and my MIL has stepped in to plan my baby shower, help with our house projects, and be there for me in ways I thought only my mother could.
2 - DH & I can call her anytime if we need her help and she is right there for us.
3- She defends me when Dh & i fight if he is wrong. If am I am wrong, she will tell me that too. Her objectivity is wonderful, especially since I married "her baby boy".
4- She has a beautiful signing voice
I know I was only supposed to write three, but her voice is amazing!

1. offerred her house for my baby shower
2. rented a car and a beach house last time she brought down all the kids to see the baby so they wouldn't have stay here and we wouldn't have to make multiple trips everywhere
3. she came down to see the baby after he was born and did wash (she shrunk alot of stuff) but she tried to help and picked things up a bit.

1. Has always welcomed me into the family and treated me like a daughter.
2. Is an amazing cook and will sometimes drive to our place (1 hour away) just to drop off food she made.
3. Will do anything for her children.

2. One of the most caring, thoughtful, generous, loving woman in the world.
3. Became great friends with my family which makes holidays and get togethers fun and a little non-stressful..
As I type this, I have to get ready to head into JFK cuz she's coming home from FL today (with FIL of course)

1. She hosted my bridal shower at her house. And made me a lingerie bag.
2. She's a retired teacher so she's always there to hear my vents about school.
3. She works so hard at everything she does.
4. She and FIL have let us live in their basement apt. rent free for four months while we fix up the new house.
5. She offered to make all of the curtains/drapes for our new house
6. She helped us paint the house last weekend AND then went home and cooked dinner for all of us.

She will fiercely defend her family, including her DIL's.
She truly treats me like her daughter and not a daughter in law.
She is an all-around good person, like my own mom. She will do anything for you!

1) INCREDIBLY generous, treats me like one of her own in that sense (gave me $500 for my birthday!  )
2) Is totally devoted to the happiness of her family
3) Gives my doggie the best grooming ever and always spoils him to pieces when we go visit.
4)Treats my mom like a sister (is nice to my dad too, but she and my mom have really bonded and talk long distance at least once a week)

I really can't contribute anything to this thread either.
My MIL didn't ever really raise my dh. She did such a bad job that they kids really raised themselves. She IS far away, even though I know I can't use that, that is towards my advantage!!
She doesn't even do anything for her grandkids (my kids, not her other grandkids mind you).
