Metformin without insulin resistance

Is anyone else taking metformin when they don't have insulin resistance? I have other symptoms of PCOS, including the ovarian cysts, and a irregular cycle (& my father has Type II diabetes), but my bloodwork came back fine. No insulin resistance, and fasting glucose was normal. I know that Dr. B said that it can still improve egg quality, so I'm going to go ahead and start it tonight, but I'm curious to hear other's experiences with a similar scenario.

I was going to start last night, but I wanted to get some drinking and carbs in first!

when i first started seeing dr. b we did the fasting insulin and it came back normal and he didn't put me on met. it wasn't until a few months later when i was taking some time off for work that he decided to put me on it. it takes about 3 months to be fully effective. i did get pregnant my second cycle on it, but it was chemical (unrelated). i do think it helps a lot. i havent had any negative side effects at all from it. if anything it has made me more "regular" from a bathroom perspective and i have a lot less food cravings then normal. also, i have no side effects regardless of what i eat or drink on it.

I see Dr.B and also take metformin and do NOT have insulin resistance. I don't remember what exactly he said it was for In the meantime, I started taking it my 2nd medicated cycle and got pregnant on my 3rd. (I was taking other things along with it)

I also see Dr. B and have PCOS and also not insulin resistant. He did not start me on it right away, but now that we're starting our first IVF cycle, he has me on it. The first week I had some gastro issues, but now I'm totally fine. I do make sure to take it with food. I've been on it almost 2 months.
