metformin question
Anyone else take 1500mg all at once? Seems like most people build it up gradually over like 2-3 weeks...
I just started 1500mg at once, so I'm curious.

Re: metformin question
i took 750 @ night for 3 days... i had no issues, so i went right to 1500.
i was on the XR - i remember my gyn saying that she noticed a difference with side effects (less with the XR than the regular option).
I have PCOS, don't ovulate or get AF regularly. (I tend to go almost 3 mos between them. If i hit 3 mos mark, I got to the Dr for Provera.)

Thanks I have PCOS too and don't ovulate or get AF regularly either... currently on a crazy concoction of meds I'm on the xr one too.. so hopefully no side effects. So far tonight all I had was a headache but I'm not sure if that was related to the metformin at all......

the RE put me on 2000mg for ds. i started with 1000mg and within a week i was up to 2000mg.
the perinatologist decreased my dose from 2000mg to 1000mg until i was 12 weeks pregnant.

Re: metformin question
I initially started 1500 all at once, but had a very difficult time with it. My Dr. had me stop doing that and then slowly build myself up to taking the 1500mgs.
I was not on it throughout my pregnancy though. My RE had me stop taking it as soon as I got my BFP.

Re: metformin question
Thank you everyone!! So far I took 1500mg for two nights in a row and have been ok.... though I notice after I take it I get VERY tired. I think that just might be because I take it at night though.. so I can't exactly blame the metformin .. I think the fatigue is more likely a symptom of my job!
