I know that Merrick is a great area and has really good schools. There are a ton of different sections and I'm familiar with the woods, old lindenmere, and merrick proper...but can someone tell me about the Lea section? TIA!

Re: Merrick????
I grew up in Merrick Lea, my parents still live there. . It's a very nice area, when I was growing up, there were sooo many kids running around, now 20 years later, most of the people that were around then have moved out and its starting to fill up with kids again. You're close to everything, can walk to the train station and shopping. Great area.

Re: Merrick????
Can anyone define the sections? You know, names and where they are located approximately?

Its opposite the woods. If you are going down Merrick Ave after already crossing sunrise then the woods would be on your right and Lea would be on your left...there are cute little signs that say welcome to Merrick Lea....Welcome to Merrick Woods.

Re: Merrick????
Northern border is Merrick Ave Jr. High, think southern border is maybe smith street to the west of Merrick Ave.
Rattlesnake Jones, NF Walker Funeral Home, that area, to the West.

Re: Merrick????
I grew up in Merrick too - it is a great town. My parents still live there too. I grew up in South Merrick (south of Merrick Road) and it's a really nice area. I think the Lindermere section is really nice. My friend grew up in the Merrick Woods section and it's great there too - really convienent to the train and stores.
