Meredith (Merf99) - any update on your nanny cam situation?
How has she been doing? Did you ever end up telling her about the cameras?

THanks for asking!!!! We never told her about the cameras but we did make hints that we don't like her in the swing for too long - they were subtle though. And I guess she took it because after that it definitely got better. And I also asked her to start writing down DD's schedule about what time she napped, ate, etc and she had no problem with that. Then we went back and looked at the camera tapes and she kept to her word.
In the meantime, I did speak to a bunch of other nanny candidates and none of them matched up to what I was looking for. So I'm glad we stayed with the one we had. I think she will never do 100% of what I exactly want and I cannot sit there and plan out her day for her, but Sophie loves her and is always clean, well fed and dressed and happy - so that's what matters. It is hard to find a good nanny and as mommies, we all know that no one but US would do 100% of what we would do and the way we would do it.

Thanks girls. I really agonized over this for a long time. Of course I don't want to be lied to but the thought of finding someone new terrified me. Of course if Sophie was being harmed in anyway, it wouldn't have been a question to get rid of her. But she is really good with Sophie.
And a few weeks later I heard on the news that a nanny got arrested for sexually abusing a 2 year old boy in Woodbury or Woodmere- and the parents found out because of the nanny cams. So that made me thankful that I at least found someone who I know would NEVER ever hurt my daughter.
